Text: Proverbs 4: 23
Today, we look at the word “Be careful” as we have a lot of scriptures about watchfulness. Our bible text tells us to guide our hearts and should not carelessly make decisions so the adversary does not take advantage of us. 1 Peter 5: 8 talks about how the devil endlessly roams about looking for who to devour. I pray Satan won’t find anything of him in us in Jesus name.
We need to meditate on God’s word as it is a good guide for us. Philippians 4: 6-7 admonishes us to always meditate on the word of God. Learn to depend on God when you are troubled rather than just following any thought that comes to your mind and things that surpass our understanding will be at work in you as there is no emergency before God.
Matthew 7: 15 admonishes us to be careful of false teachings, those who run after teachings that are sweet to the ears but not pleasing to God. Let us be careful. Better to hear the bitter truth of God’s word and gain the wonders embedded therein. Like in the scriptures where a senior prophet deceived the junior prophet to eat where God commanded him not to. Learn to depend on God.
Proverbs 14: 15 tells us as believers to be watchful in our workplace, relationships, health, finances, and every area of life. Let God lead you so you won’t be deceived. A lot have been deceived and have gone away from God’s presence. In a bit to meet the pressure of the season, don’t go to where God is not leading you or engage in what is unpleasant to God, you need to be extra-careful as there are dangerous prophets and people in our world today. Only those who follow the word of God are considered wise.
In conclusion, prayer is good but be watchful and careful as this will make you a victorious individual rather than a victim of these times and seasons. I pray it shall be well with us in Jesus name.
